Brittany presses him further by stating that he must have coerced Sharon into her confession by pretending to fall in love with her. Christine (Lauralee Bell) then cross-examines Rey. He admits that he and Sharon both opened up about their feelings, but he denies that he lied to her.

Mia’s face is in total shock as Rey looks down at the floor while still on the stand. An angry Mia then confronts Rey, but Christine orders him back to the station. In the interrogation room, Rey insists that he didn’t break any departmental rules. Rey apologizes to Christine and tells her that he is willing to resign from his position.

Over at the club, Kyle (Michael Mealor) and Summer (Hunter King) go over the conditions of their marriage. Even though he has his doubts about their plans, he still thanks Summer for donating her liver to help save Lola’s life. Summer then tells Phyllis (Gina Tognoni) that she is engaged to Kyle. Phyllis is shocked. She asks her daughter if she’s pregnant. Summer states that they are getting married simply because they are in love.

At the Abbott mansion, Kerry (Alice Hunter) and Jack (Peter Bergman) get ready for another romantic evening together. Jack is hopeful about their future. Kerry then brings Jack up to date with Phyllis and wonders if she might have a hidden agenda. Jack questions why Kerry would want to be involved with Phyllis.

Kyle briefly visits Lola (Sasha Calle) at the hospital. He tells her that he found a donor. He whispers to her that he now understands what love is. Kyle also says that the only thing that matters to him is her health and her happiness. He then returns to the club to talk to Summer about her surgery. Phyllis warns Kyle that he shouldn’t toy with her daughter’s heart.

At home, Mia is devastated, heartbroken and drunk. When Rey arrives, she accuses him of humiliating her. Everyone in Genoa City knows he’s in love with Sharon.
