The last week has been an interesting one for Joe Rogan as several musical artists pulled their music from Spotify in protest of him spreading “misinformation” on his podcast.
Several celebrities came out in support of him, including his friend Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson, whom Rogan even said he’d vote for if he ran for president.
The Rock’s Hypocrisy Exposed, Deletes Cancel Worthy Tweet After Turning On Joe Rogan; Rogan Apologizes For Using N-Word
But within a couple of days, Johnson did an about-face when fans pointed out Rogan used the N-word on his podcast years ago.
Musical star India Arie even dug up his old clips and shared a montage of Rogan’s usage of the derogatory and racist term on social media as she hasn’t been shy about her feeling on the Spotify issue.
Rogan apologized for using the term and stated he didn’t mean it in a racist way. We’ll see how it’s received over the next few days.

Division Continues
While there’s no excuse for using the term, no one had a problem with it, including his friend Johnson, until he was labeled an “anti-vax misinformation” spreader.
Now, he’s a horrible human being simply for sharing information from all sides.
Rogan has stated he’s just a guy that holds conversations and wants to learn, hence why he’s had numerous doctors and scientists on his show, including one from President Joe Biden’s administration.
As for Johnson, he could’ve acknowledged what Rogan said and explained that he would talk with him to clear the air.
Whoopi Goldberg took some heat when she stood by Mel Gibson as a friend when he reportedly told his ex he hoped she was raped by a group of N-word, but she continues to be given a pass despite a vast difference between Gibson and Rogan’s use.
There’s a huge difference in context and intent between the two, and Johnson had the chance to handle it differently by having an honest conversation with Rogan on his podcast and have a clear learning moment about it not being okay to use the word in any context.
He chose to go hardcore PC and Rogan apologized for using the term.
This isn’t bringing anyone together or providing a teaching moment. Instead, it falls into the typical chasm we’ve witnessed repeatedly the last few years, and one Johnson has now fallen into.
The Rock Faces Cancelation
Fans wasted no time in confronting the Rock by sharing some old WWE promos that were racist, sexist, and other ists but he was playing a character.
Then someone dug up the tweet above where he responded to someone calling him a douche with “Shhh.. don’t be angry Ms Katie. It’s not our fault you’re turning tranny tricks to put yourself thru nursing school. shhh…”
After it was dredged up, Johnson responded in perfect PR form by deleting the tweet to prevent backlash, but some fans were quick to screencap it and call him out for it.
We wonder if he’s going to apologize for his comment. If recent history is a guide, we’re sure he’ll get a pass like other celebrities have for choosing the “preferred” side.
