The CW Riverdale spoilers is saying that we’re all worried about Cheryl Blossom (Madeline Petsch), right? You know, the whole secretly keeping her dead-ish brother in the Blossom Chapel and alienating her entire family and disturbing the crap out of her girlfriend, you have to wonder what’s going on in that pretty little red bombshell head of hers. Well, according to the actress that plays her, you don’t have to look any further than her makeup to indicate how Cheryl is doing. In seasons past, Cheryl used to play it safe and not really do anything ostentatious with her eye looks.
The CW Riverdale Spoilers: Decoding the Makeup of Cheryl Marjorie Blossom
The only substantial feature that she would draw attention to would be her lips. But now that her Dad and Uncle Claudius (both played by Barclay Hope) are gone and her Mom, Penelope Blossom (Nathalie Boltt) is God only knows where and she, Nana Rose (Barbara Wallace), and Toni Topaz (Vanessa Morgan) are all living in the Blossom mansion free to live as they please, Cheryl is noticeably happier.
Riverdale Spoilers: A good place? Is that what that looks like?
“[Cheryl’s] in a good place — at least she thinks she’s in a good place, mentally; in reality, we all know she’s not — but she’s playing with makeup; she’s happy.” I just have to say that that is a hell of a way to be happy. This is not a normal person’s version of happy, this is a flavor of happy that is distinctly Cheryl. She is finally free of the oppressive members of her family and she has not just one but arguably two partners in crime when Nana is at her more lucid moments. She doesn’t have to worry about her Dad or Uncle’s dirty dealings, nor any of the gross old men that her Mother would bring home and she has Jason back even though I am pretty sure no one can communicate with him but her. It smells of freedom and old lady perfume and what’s that distinct pong of… oh yes, rotting flesh.

Riverdale Spoilers: Prophecy says she will go barefaced!
If this is ‘happy’ for Cheryl, then what on earth does sad or angry look like? We may have already seen that, considering her previous home life, but we haven’t seen the future makeup look of a miserable adult Cheryl who has previously known happiness. If she is forced back into a lifestyle that she hates, or something changes (say she actually has to come to grips with the fact that Jason is gone forever), then her makeup will be the first indicator that something has gone off the rails. Maybe next time it’ll be full KISS makeup, or Kabuki. What if she goes completely barefaced? That’ll be time for the Riverdale Apocalypse. To continue to guage the climate of The Town with Pep, stay tuned!!!
