‘The Bold and the Beautiful’ spoilers indicates that Sheila Carter (Kimberlin Brown) doesn’t really have any concept of what it means to be a mother. Being a mother means sacrificing oneself for the happiness and satisfaction of one’s child, but she isn’t interested in that. She is willing to have her son endure pain if it brings the result she wants.
‘The Bold and the Beautiful’ Spoilers: Pursuing Her Son
Sheila Carter wants to have a relationship with her son, Jonathan “Finn” Finnegan (Tanner Novlan). Finn really hasn’t wanted to have anything to do with her since she tried to kill his wife, Steffy Forrester (Jacqueline MacInnes Wood) and almost too him out in the process.
When Sheila had a heart attack on the evening of her arrest, Finn did not let her flatline. His adoptive mother, Li Finnegan (Naomi Matsuda) didn’t want to intervene to save Sheila. But Finn felt that he needed to honor his vows as a doctor. He saved Sheila and she believes this is a sign that he truly cares about her.
When he went to give her a checkup at the prison to see if she was fit enough to stand trial, she hugged him. He put his arms around her and hugged her too. For some reason, it was a feeling that he felt he needed, connecting to his birth mother. When she was released, they hugged again.
All she wants it to have a relationship with him. She says she loves him and needs to have him in her life. She’s not going to take “no” for an answer.
‘The Bold and the Beautiful’ Spoilers: The Obstacle
The obstacle in Sheila’s way is Steffy. Steffy hates her and refuses to let her be a part of their family’s life. Sheila has been talking so darkly about Steffy that Deacon Sharpe (Sean Kanan) actually feels concerned that Sheila will do something terrible to get her out of Finn’s way.
Sheila says that she thinks that Liam Spencer (Scott Clifton) and Steffy still have feelings for each other and that they should just get back together again. She says that even though Finn’s heart will be broken for a while, he will recover and get over Steffy. Sheila will be there to help him get over his heartbreak and move on.
This isn’t the way a mother should act, however. Mothers sacrifice for their children’s happiness. Finn is happily married to Steffy, and they share a child. If Sheila wanted to show Finn true love, she would do as he asks and stay away. Instead, she is putting her desires about that of her child. She hasn’t changed no matter who she might try to convince otherwise.
