RJ Forrester (Joshua Hoffman) returned to Los Angeles, California, to be with his family. Hoffman’s character was not seeking a girlfriend but soon found one.

Luna said working at the Forrester fashion house was her dream job. She realized her internship through circumstance as Donna Logan (Jennifer Gareis) took a liking to Luna and hired her without conducting a background check.
It just so happens that Luna is John Finnegan’s (Tanner Novlan) first cousin, and his mother holds a grudge against her mother. So, Luna’s soapy backstory was quickly sketched for the viewers.

Drama, be it on the screen or in real life, lends itself to bonding sessions. Viewers can relate to forming connections with people who are there for them during essential moments in life.
Add to the above, forming a connection where a mutual personal attraction exists and a dramatic scenario can supercharge a pairing. And so it was that RJ and Luna became close in a matter of weeks.
Luna was the person RJ could lean on and confide in during the period when his grandfather ordered him to keep his health secret. Eric Forrester (John McCook) forbid RJ from telling his parents or anyone else that he was sick, which was a terrible burden. Luna helped RJ carry it, and he appreciated it greatly.

The rivalry angle between Zende Forrester Dominguez (Delon de Metz) and RJ was a non-starter when Ridge Forrester (Thorsten Kaye) and Brooke Logan’s (Katherine Kelly Lang) son returned to Los Angeles, California. Then Eric asked RJ to help him design the final collection, and the spark was lit.
Repeated scenes are centering on Zende confiding in Luna. The looks and compliments he offers, along with the friction between him and RJ, clearly telegraph further Forrester family conflict that has developed between and RJ, clearly telegraph, another Forrester family conflict that involves Luna on B&B.
