A few years later, Liam has alienated Hope, and she has allowed herself to fall for Thomas. Her growing bond with him implies that Liam is out for good.

After witnessing Hope kiss Thomas in Rome, Italy, Liam was devastated. As the soap world would have it, Steffy happened to be nearby when Liam was reeling.
But Steffy did not get swept up in nostalgia when Liam kissed her. He was defaulting to old feelings and their pattern of repeatedly reconnecting when love with Hope went south.
Wood’s character reinforced her stand at the cliff house after everyone returned home. Liam was told to try to make his marriage work because she was with Finn.

Rather than admitting his share of responsibility for what has gone wrong and treating his children’s mothers with respect, Liam is veering off-course. He wants to strike out at Hope and Steffy by targeting Thomas and Finn.
Of course, doing so will not make Liam more appealing to either of his soul mates. Instead, he will lose their trust and jeopardize his currently solid position as the father of Kelly and Beth on B&B.
