The Bold and the Beautiful’ (B&B) spoilers indicate that everyone is joyous and celebratory after Eric Forrester (John McCook) receives a Christmas miracle. Jonathan “Finn” Finnegan (Tanner Novlan) performed an experimental procedure and Eric survived.
The doctors successfully removed the ventilator. Eric resumed breathing on his own. Will he end up being thankful that he was saved, or will he be upset with his son, Ridge Forrester (Thorsten Kaye)?
‘The Bold and the Beautiful’ Spoilers: Difficult Decision
B&B’s Eric Forrester was suffering from a serious medical condition. He continued to worsen, and the doctors determined that there was nothing that they could do for him. No one knew about his situation except for Donna Logan (Jennifer Gareis), Katie Logan (Heather Tom) and RJ Forrester (Joshua Hoffman).
Eric had told Ridge before that as he reached his twilight years, he did not want Ridge to do anything extraordinary to prolong his life. He wanted to end his days with dignity.
Eric wanted to be appreciated and remembered for his powerful rise at Forrester Creations. He does not want to be remembered as an old withering man needing constant care.
When Eric flat-lined, Ridge was ready to let him go. He felt that would honor his father’s wishes. Death is going to come for everyone, and his father wanted the process to occur with ease.
The rest of the family couldn’t bear to say goodbye though. Finn suggested an experimental, and possibly devastating procedure. Ridge begrudgingly agreed to try it.

The best Christmas gift arrived for the Forrester family as the doctors were able to remove the ventilator and Eric was able to breathe on his own. He regained consciousness and squeezed B&B’s Donna’s hand.
Eric also opened his eyes. He also tried to murmur “Merry Christmas”. But what state did this procedure leave him in? What will the results be? Will he ever be able to get out of bed and get back into the office he loves?
If he can’t and his quality of life is severely diminished, is he going to be angry at Ridge for going against his wishes? Will he feel that his son can no longer be trusted with making important decisions for him or his company? What will the fallout be? What do you think?
