‘The Bold and the Beautiful’ (B&B) spoilers document that feeling pressure when called upon to act in the moment is reasonable. Having to make a decision that could cause life to continue or death to occur is monumental.
So, Ridge Forrester’s (Thorsten Kaye) initial response to John Finnegan’s (Tanner Novlan) treatment offer was understandable. However, Eric Forrester’s (John McCook) loved ones felt differently and let Ridge know it.
Thankfully, Finn and Bridget Forrester (Ashley Jones) completed successful cell transplant surgery. Eric also awoke and can breathe independently but is far from recovered yet.
‘Bold And The Beautiful’ Spoilers – Eric Forrester Made It, Now What?
Fans were concerned that McCook was retiring and leaving the show. With that, many wondered if Eric would be killed off.
The volume of retrospective scenes and the arrival of characters who are not regulars implied something was afoot. The many mentions of the late Stephanie Forrester (Susan Flannery) and that actor’s return to the show for the first time in five years indicated the end was near or had arrived.
But Eric’s body and mind are more robust than they seemed. He did not follow Stephanie to heaven and returned to his loved ones after almost walking to the Pearly Gates.
‘Bold And The Beautiful’ Spoilers – John Finnegan’s Plan Works
Finn was researching for weeks without his wife’s knowledge. He did not want to give Steffy Forrester Finnegan (Jacqueline MacInnes Wood) and her family false hope.
The experimental procedure was put on the table because Finn was conveniently still at University Hospital when Eric was rushed to it. Ridge said no at first but was influenced. But Eric’s eye twitches changed his mind, and Finn was told not to turn the ventilator off.
The above caused momentary relief. Eric survived and then woke up. He even spoke using the word Merry but could not follow with Christmas.
‘Bold And The Beautiful’ Spoilers – Did Ridge Forrester Make The Right Choice?
It may be a while until anyone knows whether Ridge’s call produces hoped-for results. Those would be the ones where Eric regains physical health and mental proclivity.
In the months leading up to his hospitalization, Eric repeatedly said he did not want to rely on medicine to keep himself alive. As long as he is fully aware, depending on health care to live daily will be disregarded.
Ridge can not know if he made the right choice at that moment, but he has also set Eric up for a limited existence on B&B.
