‘The Bold and the Beautiful’ (B&B) spoilers document that breathing is something we all take for granted. The involuntary nature of it is disregarded until one catches a cold, cough, or, in this soapy world, is on a ventilator during the Christmas season.

The Forrester family offered a collective exhale after their patriarch took a first breath. Eric Forrester (John McCook), the much-loved head of his family, also opened his eyes and began to regain his vital signs.

Those who misread soapy history revile someone simply for being the male head of a prominent family. Of course, Eric’s last name is also synonymous with timeless style.

But jealousy is a staple among some misguided souls. All others appreciate Eric’s strong family leadership. They also value what he has accomplished through his prominent and enduring fashion house.

‘Bold And The Beautiful’ Spoilers – Great Praise Goes To John Finnegan And Bridget Forrester

Proof of family love was seen in the joyous response in the moments surrounding what hopefully is Eric’s full recovery. Ridge Forrester (Thorsten Kaye) told his dad that he wanted to abide by his wishes but that an option was offered, and he took it.

John Finnegan (Tanner Novlan) was secretly working for weeks to find a solution for Eric’s terminal illness. He found an experimental cell transplant procedure. Finn got Ridge’s go-ahead, and that effort was successful.

Finn and Bridget Forrester (Ashley Jones) worked to save Eric on the operating table and made the right call about removing the ventilator tube. McCook’s character signaled the go-ahead, Ridge okayed it, and Eric took a beautifully shot breath.

‘Bold And The Beautiful’ Spoilers – Christmas At The Forrester Mansion

Longtime fans enjoy the Forrester family’s traditions on Christmas. Eric is always shown at the piano, playing a medley of time-honored songs.

This religious-based holiday can be rebuked by those in this version of Los Angeles, California, who experience family strife. But self-absorption and the airing of eternal grievances are why some characters oppose family holiday celebrations.

Eric stands for forgiveness and second chances. He is a generous guy who believed he would die and made peace with that. However, his life has been extended, and all who love him are thrilled and relieved.

‘Bold And The Beautiful’ Spoilers – What Does Eric Forrester Represent?

Textured characters in any entertainment medium can represent what is in the eye of the observer. So, Eric might represent a family member, husband, friend, boss, neighbor, or some other person in your life.

This particular storyline ranks with the best this soap opera has produced in years, and it is not over. Praise to all involved, starting with McCook, whose work should be honored with the best during next year’s Daytime Emmy Awards.

In the meantime, Eric’s survival is a satisfying Christmas gift to viewers from B&B.
