‘The Bold and the Beautiful’ (B&B) spoilers document that a life-saving treatment is possible. Eric Forrester (John McCook) might survive his current medical crisis. But if John Finnegan (Tanner Novlan) saves him, will that mean he regains total health?
The build-up to this particular storyline has been intense. Add to it that McCook is B&B’s leading man and one of only two cast members who remain from its 1987 debut year. He and Katherine Kelly Lang (Brooke Logan) return to the early days.
So, was the soapy mountain of retrospective scenes purely offered to make the audience believe Eric would die when he wasn’t?
‘Bold And The Beautiful’ Spoilers – Assuming John Finnegan As The Hero
Some episodes must play out before fans learn if Eric survives his hospitalization. The collapse at his last-minute party appeared to be the end of days and, possibly, the end of an era for the actor.
However, viewers knew Finn’s furious work at the hospital, contrasted with scenes of the Forrester mansion bash, was necessary. So, let’s assume Finn plays the hero.
It is not unreasonable to believe in a soapy ending to this part of Eric’s storyline. A treatment plan could be employed and work in the coming days.
‘Bold And The Beautiful’ Spoilers – Eric Forrester Said His Goodbyes
The writing staff did more than have Eric reflect upon his life. Numerous conversations were had in recent weeks, which propelled logical speculation that McCook was potentially retiring.
Eric spoke with all of his guests at the party. He offered uplifting and affirming words, as they would be his last to each person.
So, the question is whether Ridge Forrester (Thorsten Kaye) changes his will mind. He initially balked at Finn’s plan to employ a cutting-edge treatment that was not guaranteed to work and would produce an extended, challenging recovery period.
‘Bold And The Beautiful’ Spoilers – A Delayed Farewell Is Intended?
It seems that TPTB have introduced Finn’s proposal because it will be used. Imagine having Eric die with Ridge having rejected a plan and never knowing if it would have worked.
Ridge would never forgive himself, and countless characters would question his judgment. So, Brooke, Donna Logan (Jennifer Gareis), and others are sure to apply ongoing pressure on Ridge.
But a twist could still come even if Finn’s plan works and all seems well in the next few weeks or months. The characters on the show would not be prepared for that exit, and the intent would be to lull the audience into a false sense of security. Yes, that would be a memorable way for Eric to pass and for McCook to go out on top on B&B.
