‘The Bachelor’ spoilers have found that for once the old cliché is right; season 25 of the long-running ABC reality series is the. Most. Dramatic. Season. Ever.
However, it’s because of what has happened outside of the Bachelor Mansion that has thrust the show, and disgraced host Chris Harrison, into the spotlight.
After his ill-fated interview with Rachel Lindsay on Extra, Harrison made the decision to step aside from the show that made him a household name and announced he would not host the After the Final Rose live special which airs directly after the conclusion of the season.

Until now, it was unknown who would replace the host, with rumors circulating that it could be Rachel Lindsay, Jojo Fletcher or Wells Adams.
We now have our host…and it’s a name that surprised most of Bachelor Nation.
Emmanuel Acho, former linebacker for the Philadelphia Eagles turned popular Fox Sports analyst has announced on Instagram that he will anchor the special airing Monday, March 15.
“I’ve accepted the rose and am honored to be hosting the @bachelorabc After the Final Rose this year.” He captioned the photo where he is ‘suited-up’ and holding a Bachelor ‘staple’ red rose “It’s been a pivotal season, and this episode will hopefully be one of the most storied shows in TV history. Empathy is needed and change is coming. Share the news! I’ll see y’all then!”
While the selection of Acho confused many Bachelor fans, who presumed the hosting gig would go to someone within Bachelor Nation, it starts to make more sense as Acho writes of himself;
“I’m the author of 2020 NYT best seller, “Uncomfortable Conversations with a Black Man.” A book that answers all the racial questions you’ve been too afraid to ask. Go read it.”
It seems the finale of season 25 will be like no other, with less talk about the Bachelor’s “journey” and more conversation regarding the racist allegations against front runner, Rachael Kirkconnell, Harrison’s defense of racism in his interview with Lindsay and the lack of airtime for the women of color- even though BIPOC contestants made up the majority of women in the Bachelor mansion for the first season ever.
No announcement has been made yet as to whether Harrison will return to hosting duties for season 17 of The Bachelorette which is late to start filming already, or if Acho, or a different host will step into Harrison’s well-worn shoes.
The Bachelor airs on ABC Mondays at 8pm ET.
