Matt James and Rachael Kirkconnell have given fans an insight into their relationship, as they were both pictured giving back to the community at a school.

The duo decided to reconcile following their high profile split in the aftermath of Rachael’s social media scandal. And they are looking to put it all behind them by giving the next generation some valuable lessons. In a post to his fans on Instagram, we can see Matt pictured alongside Rachael who is talking to a young student in the class.
In the background, Matt is looking on with delight on his face. The post was captioned by the following comments: “Today we began a series focused on financial literacy…so that our students can make informed decisions for themselves and their families.”
This initiative seems part of the broader commitment that Matt had wanted Rachael to participate in, namely, understanding the issues facing the black community. Given that financial illiteracy is a huge problem plaguing the younger generation, the couple deemed it wise to pass on their knowledge, especially since they are not exactly short of money.
Nevertheless, some fans did begin to question whether they needed to publicise the nature of what they were doing. The primary reason was because a subset of critics saw this as a publicity stunt in order to improve Rachael’s image amongst the black community in light of her previous ‘racist’ social media posts. Not only that, Matt was very insistent on Rachael needing some time apart in order to learn the racial issues that were impacting the black community.
This paradoxical approach was evident in the response from one user, who could not quite believe why the couple had decided to do this. She remarked: “This whole time, Matt has been saying how he wants to grow from his [s] past and obviously, she has growing to do as well.”
Regardless of what fans may think, it is quite clear that they are going to have another go at things. They will simply have to learn to adapt and deal with the scrutiny that is ultimately going to come their way. But what we do know is that if they can overcome the initial struggles, they will be just fine.
