Jamie Otis has been looking back at her first miscarriage that occurred approximately five years ago.

Jamie, for her part, had the tragic incident of losing her child during her first attempt at being pregnant. While she has had children since, coupled with the fact that a significant amount of time has passed, she has still been left wondering what could have been.
In a post to her fans on Instagram, Jamie shared a throwback picture of her miscarried baby in the hospital room. We can see Jamie holding it alongside her husband Doug Hehner as she sheds a tear.
The post was captioned with the following comments: “Happy birthday to my sweet boy who made me a mommy. I only got to hold him briefly before he was taken away from me. Johnathan would be five today if he had survived.”
The news, albeit sad, has been comforted by the fact that Jamie has been blessed with three children. That has allowed her to make many memories and allow each child to have the benefit of siblings.
And yet, given that Jamie has suffered from many complications with her pregnancies which have resulted in miscarriages, it does not make it any easier when she is reminded of them through various anniversary landmarks. She added: “I’ve lost a lot of pregnancies, but losing him tore my world apart. I looked at my baby, who was so broken & bruised.”
Despite the hardships she has been through, Jamie did blame herself for these things. She admitted that this might be a form of Karma, given that she had undergone an abortion when she became pregnant during her teenage years.
That decision has left her with many regrets, as she prioritised her education over a baby. So when she actually wanted to have one, she felt that things were destined against her because of the prior actions she had taken.
She continued: “I thought I had no choice but to go through with an abortion. This happened twice when I was raising my siblings… I never ever talk about this… No one who has an abortion is proud of it.”
