Wait, what? Former The Bachelor star Colton Underwood says that he was forced to tell the world that he is gay. As a matter of fact, the reality television star – who also has a Netflix series coming out – claims that he was blackmailed into coming out. Here’s what you need to know.
According to Variety, Colton says that someone claims that he secretly took pictures of Colton at an LA gay spa and threatened to out him. This prompted him to reveal that he is gay to Robin Roberts in an emotional Good Morning America interview.
Colton Underwood Says Blackmail Is The Reason Why He Came Out
He said, “I, at one point, during my rock bottom and spiral, was getting blackmailed. Nobody knows I was blackmailed.”
Soon after coming out, Colton apologized to his ex Cassie Randolph for making bad choices in their relationship.
“If I’m being very honest, I loved everything about her,” he said, adding that the feelings he shared for Randolph “only made it harder and more confusing” for him as he grappled with his own questions about his sexuality.
“And it’s hard for me to articulate exactly what my emotions were going through that relationship with her, because I obviously had an internal fight going on,” he continued.
“I would just say I’m sorry from the bottom of my heart. I’m sorry for the pain and emotional stress I caused. I wish it wouldn’t have happened the way it did. I wish that I would have been courageous enough to fix myself before I broke anybody else.”
There’s no word on when Colton’s new Netflix series will launch, however, sources say that Colton is currently filming with his production team. We will definitely update you with all the latest details as they come in.
