‘The Bachelor’ and ‘Bachelor in Paradise’ alum Carly Waddell has reached out to fans for the first time since she was rushed to hospital by ambulance last week.
Taking to her Instagram Stories on Friday, Carly thanked fans for their concern, thoughts and prayers and explained that she is still “exhausted from the ordeal. The story included a photo of Carly in the ambulance, likely taken by soon to be ex-husband, another Bachelor in Paradise and Bachelorette alum, Evan Bass.
The 35-year old mother of two didn’t quite explain what had cause the need for an ambulance and subsequent 9 hour hospital stay, but alluded ot the fact that it began while she was airborne, saying she had just gotten her phone back after “losing it on an airplane in the midst of a medical emergency.”

Waddell explained that it was a “long story” and she promised to share with fans when she was feeling better. Bass, who originally broke the story of Waddell’s emergency on his own social media also wouldn’t give details, saying it was “Carly’s story to tell.”
Waddell admitted to still not being 100% sure what “is/was wrong.”
While it all sounds very scary, it also looks as though Bass and Waddell still have each other’s backs despite announcing they were divorcing in December 2020.
The pair met on Bachelor in Paradise in the summer of 2016, with Bass falling for the former cruise ship singer immediately. As for Waddell, she took some time to come around to the man she would call her fiancé by the season’s end.
The couple tied the knot on June 17, 2017, almost exactly 4 years to the day that Waddell was hospitalized. They have two children, three year old daughter, Bella and one year old son, Charlie.
Waddell has has repeatedly claimed it was Bass who wanted a divorce and admits to still wanting to remain in the marriage. Maybe this medical emergency will have the silver lining needed for the two to explore their relationship once more?
