Telemundo news things are bit up in the air. With a lot of shows shut down because of isolation, they’ve had to do some improvising. Some things make sense. Other things, we’re scratching our heads over. But, we’re sure eventually things will even out. Here’s some of the latest on what’s going down in novela world.

    Telemundo news: Improv

So, we already talked a bit about one change happening. Based on what we saw during episode one of Cennet, we figure they had to find something to fill the time while Exatlón was shut down. What better choice than a show that fans have deemed a bit similar to a huge Turkish hit for Univision? Telemundo’s been trailing them in the ratings for a while now. But there’s more change ahead.

    Telemundo news: Say what?

We’re going to again put this down to ratings struggles. Operación Pacífico hasn’t been doing well. Especially when compared to Sin Miedo a la Verdad’s ratings. It seems Operación Pacífico is having its Finale at around 40-some episodes. That’s not typical. In its place will be a special edition of Telemundo’s huge hit, La Reina del Sur, starting on the 21st of this month. Whether they’re cutting their losses, or ran out of taped material, we don’t know. We’ll have to keep an eye out for any word on a continuation of this season, or a new one. Telemundo news hints the odds are bad, but we’re hoping. We want resolution.

    Telemundo news: changes

In other Telemundo news, we still have no official date for 100 Días Para Enamorarnos. Promos have promised the show is coming in April. But we’re about 10 days in and still don’t have a date advertised on air. Previous information suggested the show would premiere on the 28th. But this season might have to be split, or delayed. Production shut down a little bit back, as they were filming in Miami.

Meanwhile, we know one show that is definitely out of the picture for now. Enemigo íntimo was set to premiere in May, and there were ads saying so. However, that has now been delayed and we don’t have any word on for how long. Considering La Reina del Sur is around 60-some episodes and they tend to slice and dice those “Special Editions”, something else might be needed soon. So, what do we think they should do?

    Telemundo news: Old school

We like that Telemundo has focused a lot on their original programming. Univision usually relies on Televisa, a Mexican company, for their novelas. However, this leaves them at a disadvantage. By the time viewers get shows on Univision, they’ve already either ended, or are close to airing their finale in Mexico. That means the season is already completed and there’s no need to worry about not having enough filmed.

Given all that, we’d love to see Telemundo bring back some of their older shows. Sin Senos No Hay Paraíso, for example, was a great novela that was a bit more light-hearted than the continuation. Given how badly the continuation got treated, we think showing viewers how it all started would be fitting. We’d also love to see La Patrona. It’s a series starring Aracely Arámbula (Altagracia Sandoval, La Doña). There was also a show called Eva la Trailera that aired a bit before we started watching novelas on TV.

We were somewhat interested, because the series was featured on the show “My Life is a Telenovela”. They could also give a little love to things like La Fan, which was never aired in its entirety, and not available on Netflix. We’re sure there’s so many other great series in its archives, and this would be the perfect time to put them on air. They’re already airing Kate del Castillo’s (La Reina del Sur) Dueños del Paraiso in the afternoons. It might be a bit of a change, as the production values on some of the older novelas aren’t always great, but they’ll still be fun to watch.
