While no one knows what is often going on inside the head of Ted Cruz on a good day, it seems like there are plenty of bad decisions he makes on a bad day. Or actually, make that a bad week.
Ted Cruz Is Chillin’ In Cancun While Texas Is Freezing Its Bits Off
According to Newsweek, the Republican Senator has been accused of traveling to Mexico amid the ongoing crisis in Texas, where millions have been left without power or heat in freezing temperatures.
In fact, photos have been circulating on social media of what appears to be Ted Cruz and his family in Cancun.
As many people all over the country know, Texas is under a state of emergency. That’s because an unprecedented winter weather storm has left millions in the dark as bitter cold and ice have caused power outages and treacherous road conditions during a deadly coronavirus pandemic have left a lot of people with either their heat or running water.
In fact, political correspondent David Schuster took to his Twitter account to share a photo of Ted Cruz boarding a plane and captioned it with, “Just confirmed Senator Ted Cruz and his family flew to Cancun tonight for a few days at a resort they’ve visited before. Cruz seems to believe there isn’t much for him to do in Texas for the millions of fellow Texans who remain without electricity and water and are literally freezing.”
Many critics took to their social media accounts to weigh in on the matter with, “Very on brand for republicans to blame power outages in a state that they run entirely on the Green New Deal proposed by democrats that hasn’t even been voted on yet let alone taken effect,” along with, “This is called proper self care. I think we as a society need to let the politicians enjoy themselves every now and then, they are people too.”
Another critic wrote, “If that’s not Ted Cruz flying to Cancun, I feel really badly for the guy who has to go through his entire life looking like Ted Cruz.”
So far Ted Cruz himself has not made any comments about the ordeal.
