It’s strange that the woman accused of beheading her boyfriend—who assaulted her counsel in court two weeks ago—now has a new legal representative. In her Wisconsin murder case, Taylor Schabusiness was given a new public counsel on Monday after Quinn Jolly, her first lawyer, withdrew. You may remember that he was the person who incurred her wrath in court during a vicious assault.

His request was approved by a judge, who allegedly stated, “I am satisfied based upon the assertions and obviously I was here in court for the last hearing, I saw the events that transpired.” She added, “[M]akes a great deal of sense to me.” Regarding the reason Jolly filed to remove his name from the proceeding, he described it as a “irretrievably broken state of the attorney-client relationship.”

What specifically triggered Schabusiness at the moment is unknown. In fact, Jolly was successful in buying her more time before she faced a jury on murder charges after allegedly dismembering her partner during sex and having her mental capacity assessed. As soon as the court gave her permission, she lunged at Jolly, forcing deputies to intervene.

As we previously stated, the sitting judge had no problem releasing Jolly. She also agrees that the swap won’t negatively affect the odds of his former client receiving a fair trial. Judge declares, “My understanding is that by that time, the new attorney the public defender is appointing will have a chance to meet with Schabusiness and be ready to give the court some direction as to when they will be ready to move forward.”

She scheduled a second meeting for this Friday.

What do you think? Did you see Schabusiness attack her lawyer live and what do you think is going to happen in her trial? Let us know in the comments below.
