‘Survivor 41’ spoilers find that there has finally been a shift in the newly merged tribe and, though the advantages and twists are still the biggest players on the beach, the castaways are finally starting to form strategies.

While Xander Hasting’s “betraydar” (as if we didn’t love the guy already!) was most definitely pinging, mastermind and “winner’s edit” receiver, Shan Smith, is quickly putting herself in danger. One of the only competitors to previously show she was actually trying to outwit, outlast and outplay, Shan was an early favorite, however things are beginning to change for the pastor from Toronto.

‘Survivor 41’ Spoilers: Too Much Shan-ipulation, Not Enough Betraydar

Fans of the 34 year old, who now lives in Washington D.C. are beginning to see Shan’s true colors…and boy do they clash.

Being a pastor, it’s no surprise that Shan took on a leadership position early on, even beginning rice negotiations with host, Jeff Probst when he opened the door at the last immunity challenge. After all, a pastor sacrifices for her flock…right?

But instead of listening to and working with alliance members, as one would expect an experienced pastor to do (not to mention someone who claims to be playing the social game angle) Shan is simply steamrolling her way through talk at camp. Her speaking at people, with zero room for discussion, finally led to DeShawn Radden stepping out of his “yes man” role and confronting Shan, demanding all the voices in their four-person alliance to be heard.

Not a crazy request from DeShawn, which and Shan agreed to…to his face.

Then, in the pivotal moment that had viewers shaking their head (and taking to social media), Shan spoke frankly to the confessional camera, saying she has no intention of listening to anyone’s ideas but her own, after all, that’s how she runs things with her parishioners.

“That’s what I do as a pastor, I take into consideration all of the information. There’s a lot of members, they’ve got a lot of thoughts. About this potluck, this evangelistic idea, this trip they want to take, and I got to hear it all and I’ve got to convince them that still that my way is the best way.”

    Yep…that’s verbatim.

With audiences turning on her in droves,  we can only imagine how Shan’s parishioners feel!

Some fans have gone as far as to say it sounds like Shan runs her church like a cult leader would. Others are simply done with her hypocrisy, calling her out for Papaya-gate, where Shan flipped out on her number one ally, Ricard for even sniffing at the molecules of the papaya that Naseer Muttalif procured for the group.

By the looks of the previews, it won’t be long before her fellow alliance members realize they are being Shan-ipulated (maybe Xander lends them his betraydar?) and will start to push back.

Will Shan stay safe and will viewers still be rooting for her? Her edit is revealing she is the most likely competitor to walk away as sole surviving millionaire, but then, with all the twists this season the game may very well flip on its head and Sonja Christopher, the first castaway to be voted off the island…on season 1…will come back and take it all!

What do you think of all the Shan-ipulation, is she pushing too hard or playing the game? Let us know your thoughts on Survivor 41 and watch Wednesdays nights on CBS at 8pm ET!
