    Sporting Documentaries: The Last Dance And The Last Ride Dominate Headlines

    Sporting documentaries are on the range at present for fans around the world. It is the only way to get the sporting fix that many people around the world crave. But fans have been gifted with two masterpieces over the past couple of weeks. Netflix’s The Last Dance and the WWE Network’s The Last Ride follow two of the most iconic stories in sport.

    Both documentaries off an insightful look into the sacrifices and the challenges that need to be made and overcome to make it to the top. Not only that, but they go into detail about what superstars and athletes must do to keep their place at the top of the mountain. But, do the critically acclaimed documentaries have in common.

    Sporting Documentaries: Netflix’s The Last Dance

    The story of the all-conquering Chicago Bulls is a well known one. But, never before has so much never before seen footage been able to tell the story in a different light. The series focuses on the 1997-98 season, and has quickly surpassed Tiger King as the most in-demand series on Netflix.  This series has everything, as it focuses on one of the famous sporting dynasties as well as one of the sport’s most well-known faces.

    The series predominantly focuses on Michael Jordan, as it follows him throughout his final season with the Bulls. There are ten episodes in total, and all of them are riveting from start to finish. The highest compliment that you can give it is that you almost forget that it was over 20 years ago and you find yourself asking what will happen next. The insight it gives into Jordan and how hard he has worked to achieve what he has makes it unmissable for all sports; never mind if you aren’t the biggest basketball fan.

    Sporting Documentaries: WWE Network’s The Last Ride

    Sticking with superstars that have set the bar for athletes within their industry, you can find The Last Ride on the WWE Network. The documentary series is one that all wrestling fans around the world have been waiting for, as it gives a detailed look into the life of The Undertaker. Never before have fans been able to look beyond the curtain and into the life of the famous wrestler, and the first episode that dropped on Sunday just gives a taste of what fans can expect to learn over five episodes.

    The series follows Taker between 2017 and 2020 and is as hard-hitting as fans would want it to be. At times it can be difficult to watch, as Mark Calaway realises that his career is finally coming to an end. It’s an honest look into one of the most famous superstars that changed the landscape of the WWE forever. Viewers are given insights into his feelings, his injuries and how he plans to finally call time on his career.
