Actor Dev Patel, best known for being in “Slumdog Millionaire,” attempted to stop an altercation that led to a stabbing in Australia.
Dev Patel Tried To Stop A Stabbing In Australia-‘Dev Acted On His Natural Instinct’
According to 7NEWS, a man and a woman were seen having a fight in the street. Things quickly escalated, as the pair then took that argument to a gas station. That is where multiple people including Dev had attempted to diffuse the situation.
But that is when things got out of hand, as the woman allegedly stabbed the man. Subsequently, the ambulance arrived in order to take the man to hospital. Although there could have been a danger that this was life threatening, the man is expected to stay alive. Meanwhile, the woman has been charged with aggravated assault.
Once the dust had settled, Dev had a few things to say about it all. In an official statement given on behalf of the star, a representative said: “Dev acted on his natural instinct to try and deescalate the situation and break up the fight.
“The group was thankfully successful in doing so, and they remained on site to ensure that the police and eventually the ambulance arrived.” The actor certainly had a lot of courage. First of all, there was no obligation on him to get involved.
The facts suggest that there were other people trying to intervene, which is what Dev could have allowed them to do by not getting involved. Secondly, given that he is a major star, there was a danger that this could have backfired on him.
There could have been a situation where he either got hurt, or hurt someone else in the process of trying to defend someone. The fans on social media praised Dev for the action he took. After all, he did go out of way.
One person wrote: “He’s so cool.” Now that the incident is over, hopefully, everyone can move forward. So there you have it folks. What did you think about this? Let us know your thoughts in the comments section below.
