The couple, for their part, maintained that they would remain on good terms irrespective of the fact that they decided to walk away from each other.
While that may have been the case, it was surprising to see them at a cafe together. In the picture here, we can see that Shailene is ordering something, as Aaron stands in the background waiting for her.
The post was captioned by the following comments: “I JUST SAW THEM AT EREWHON 5 MINS AGO TOGETHER!!!!!”
Regardless of the fact that they were in the same area, the chances of them getting back together are slim for the following reasons.
First of all, sources at the time stated that they were very different politically, which meant that they had different priorities within their lives.
Secondly, given that the split was announced very recently, the last thing that you would expect is a quick u-turn on that. Sources seemed to confirm as much when they suggested that the meeting was very brief indeed.
A source said: “They came to the cafe for breakfast and just sat outside at a table together. [They did not] hang out too long.”
This begs the question, why would they decide to meet up? Outside of an alternative explanation to the contrary, it would be plausible to suggest that there were a couple of loose ends that they may have wanted to sort out.
After all, they were engaged to each other which would indicate that they had made some serious decisions in their life.
Not only that, the fact that Aaron spoke so glowingly over Shailene in the aftermath of their split, as well as apologizing for the fact that he had gotten her involved in his Covid-19 vaccination scandal, he may have felt that he had a lot of making up to do.
If the pair manages to stay on good terms, then that is the most important thing. Not many former couples manage to do so, but when they do, they should be commended for it.
