Selena Gomez snubbed by Golden Globes?

Selena Gomez was in the Golden Globe nominated series “Only Murders in the Building” for Hulu, and the series itself has received three nominations, as well as some of the cast has been nominated for a Golden Globe, but one name was conspicuously absent among the Best Actress Award category, and that was Gomez hersefl!

Over on social media, fans are in an uproar because they simply can’t believe it – they thought for certain that Selena’s performance was a shoe-in for the Golden Globes.

    ..But apparently not?

The Hollywood Foriegn Press are the ones that determine the nominees for the Golden Globes an apparently they didn’t think Selena’s performance was one worthy enough of a Golden Globe – wow!

Of course that isn’t the only thing that the Hollywood Foriegn Press has done that was questionable – to announce the nominees they chose Snoop Dogg of all people, a decision that we are pretty sure was inspired by the controversy that happened earlier this year when the Hollywood Foriegn Press got raked over the coals for not having a diverse enough board of members. As a result, NBC declined to air the awards show, so this year they’ve decided to switch things up… and how.

Both Martin Short and Steven Martin got nominated for their performance in the show, and the show itself was nominated for best comedy and best musical, but Selena was nowhere to be found among the nominees. The nominees for best actress were Hannah Einbinder, Elle Fanning, Issa Rae, Tracee Ellis Ross, and Jean Smart.

Selena’s fanbase is angry, tweeting “Justice for Selena Gomez” a sentiment which echoes across social media right now, along with “Selena Gomez deserves better!” the thing is, Selena was not only a lead actress on this project but she was also an Executive Producer on the project as well.

This is not the first time a woman has been snubbed when she’s taken a position behind the camera as well as in front. If anyone remembers when Barbara Streisand directed her own film, back in the 90’s, “The Mirror Has Two Faces” she didn’t get any award nominations as well, in spite of the film being pretty well received.

It seems Hollywood doesn’t like it when a woman wears more than one hat, guess that means they’ll just have to keep doing it. Congratulations to Selena for her accomplishments. Stay tuned!!!
