Samantha Markle, who happens to be the half-sister of Meghan Markle, has backed Meghan’s father Thomas Markle’s attempts to go to court in order to see his grandchildren.
Samantha Markle Backs Thomas Markle’s Legal Battle To See His Grandkids
Thomas, for his part, has not been in touch with Meghan for quite some time. They fell out after Meghan claimed that Thomas was speaking to the press in the run-up to her wedding with Prince Harry. When Meghan had reportedly asked Thomas whether he was feeding the press any information, he denied doing such a thing, but Meghan claimed otherwise.
And since that moment, they have not been in contact despite Thomas expressing his willingness to do so. Naturally, Thomas has not been able to see his grandkids, which is going to spill over into a legal case. And Samantha has backed Thomas all the way.
In a statement given to Us Weekly, she remarked: “My dad has always been a wonderful father and grandfather to all of his grandchildren…I support his decision to petition the courts to utilize his naturally granted grandparents’ rights to be able to visit his grandchildren.”
Samantha may have her own reasons for taking this stance. She has historically not had a good relationship with Meghan. The latter had claimed in her Oprah interview that Samantha and her had barely grown up together.
Therefore, Meghan claimed that Samantha had no right to make any comments about her personal life. But when it comes to their father, Samantha is not going to back down. She added: “It has been very cruel for my sister to unjustly lock him out of her life from the wedding to present and furthermore to deprive him as a grandfather of one of the greatest joys.”
It is not clear how this is going to work without the consent of Meghan. After all, she is the mother in charge and any rights that she has are likely to trump whatever Thomas may have. Regardless of what will happen, the prospect of legal action is the last thing that Meghan and Harry will want to have.
