The widower of Halyna Hutchins, the cinematographer who was shot and killed on set of the film ‘Rust’, Matt Hutchins is expected to make his first public appearance since the event. He will appear at the WrapWomen’s fourth annual Power Women Summit that is taking place at the London West Hollywood in Beverly Hills, to acknowledge a tribute video dedicated to her work.

WrapWomen will also be announcing a donation in her honor.

As of now, no charges have been filed against the 63-year-old Alec Baldwin, but he has hired an attorney to represent him in the two lawsuits he’s facing by script supervisor Mamie Mitchell and gaffer Serge Svetnoy.

Mitchell’s lawsuit claim Baldwin disregarded the film’s gun safety procedures and fired the revolver directly at Hutchins, killing her and injuring director Joel Souza. Mitchell is suing for an unspecified amount for loss of future earnings, special and general damages, attorneys fees, and punitive damages.

Whilst Svetnoy filed a lawsuit against Baldwin claiming he suffered emotional distress after nearly being hit by the bullet the killed Hutchins. Also claims Baldwin was negligent and should have checked the gun before pulling the trigger.

The entire incident has sparked a debate in the film industry about gun safety and procedures, whether or not Baldwin should be charged and what the future holds for these types of films.

However, first and foremost, the needless loss of life and the legacy that Hutchins will leave behind.

The event is taking place on Wednesday and will be the first we hear her husband speak publicly since the incident. Many are wondering what he will have to say about it, or if he will instead focus on his wife and what she’s left behind.

What do you think? Are you going to watch the event and do you think Baldwin should be charged for the incident? Let us know in the comments below.
