Royal News finds that it is that time of the year when there are a lot of work Christmas parties, and that doesn’t exclude the royal family. It has been revealed how the Queen thanks the rest of the royal family for their efforts over the past 12 months. The event which is attended by 50 members of the family took place on Tuesday afternoon.
All of the family were invited to the festive lunch at Buckingham Palace. The event is hosted by her royal highness and is her way of thanking the family for their work over the past year. The event is extremely Christmassy and features multiple Christmas trees around the tables according to reports.
Royal News: Final Family Meeting Before Christmas
The event isn’t something new and has long been a tradition for the family. It is typically the final time that the Queen sees the extended family during that calendar year. After the event, she then travels to Sandringham, where she stays to celebrate Christmas Day with the closer members of the royal family.
Most of the royal family were in attendance for the event. However, there were a couple of notable names missing. Prince Andrew was one of the smallest surprises as he hasn’t done an awful lot to help the royal family this year. Prince Phillip was also missing as he stayed at Sandringham due to illness. The Prince has been relieved of many of his duties over the past 12 months due to his ill health.
Royal News: William Reveals George’s Christmas Present
The royal family are like any other family at this time of the year, and during his appearance on television this week, Prince William admitted what his son would be getting for Christmas. William admitted that he is a big fan of drawing and football, before revealing that he will be getting some new tools to showcase his artistic flare.
William also went on to admit that he will be getting a new football shirt. This is despite the fact that he went against his father’s wishes and chose to support a team that he begged him not to follow. William is an Aston Villa fan and admitted that he asked George to follow who he likes as long as it isn’t Chelsea. However, George decided that the London side were the team that he wanted to follow in spite of his dad.
