British Royal News finds that it has been a rocky year for the newest royal couple of the British monarchy. However, it could go from bad to worse if one petition gets its way over the coming months. The revelation comes after it was revealed that thousands had signed a document that claims Harry and Meghan have ‘disdain for the crown’.

The petition was started by Charles Ross, who wanted to ensure that Meghan and Harry have their royal titles removed. It was a slow burner for Ross as the petition was only signed by six people in August. However, since then, it has gained incredible traction and now has nearly 4,000 signatures.

British Royal News: Could It Be Possible?

What seemed like an impossible plan now doesn’t seem as unlikely. As it has accumulated so many signatures, then it will need to be deliberated by Brighton and Hove councillors. They will discuss whether they denounce the Duke and Duchess of Sussex titles. Those that signed the petition claimed that it disrespects East Sussex as a county.

Many who signed the petition took to social media to vent their reasons for doing so. Some admitted that it was the non-democratic sense of the titles that forced them to sign, while others stated that it was a symbol of the upper class and promoted oppression.

British Royal News: Witch Hunt Against Royal Couple

Many royal experts have been quick to jump to Harry and Meghan’s aid, and claim that it is just further proof of the witch-hunt against them. Experts have recalled that there were no such issues last year as the county was one of the first to post their congratulations to the couple upon their engagement. Harry and Meghan have also visited the county in the past, as they attended a Survivors Network event. They were warmly received and took time out of their busy schedules to have pictures with all of the fans in attendance on the day. Furthermore, the council don’t have the power to officially take the titles off the royals as they were given to them on their wedding day by the Queen herself.

This is only another setback for the couple, who have recently launched legal action against the British press for their reporting of the couples personal life. Meghan and Harry will both be out of the country for this Christmas, as they spend time with Meghan’s family in the United States.
