Barbadian singing star Rihanna has been left holding the baby- almost literally now that boyfriend and baby daddy, rapper A$AP Rocky has been arrested.
A$AP Rocky, real name Rakim Athelaston Mayers was arrested on Wednesday in connection to a November 2021 shooting in Hollywood.
According to sources close to the couple, Rihanna’s baby shower was meant to be Wednesday night, after the couple returned to Los Angeles following a babymoon in Rhianna’s native Barbados.

The baby shower was cancelled as Rocky was cuffed and carted off by the L.A.P.D. upon landing at LAX on a private plane.
“Rihanna was very, very upset and stressed by Rocky’s arrest It’s not the best time for her to be on such an emotional rollercoaster,” the source reported. “She’s heavily pregnant and these are very serious accusations, it’s a nightmare scenario for her.’
Rocky posted bail to the tune of $550,000 mere hours after his dramatic arrest. However, the charges of assault with a deadly weapon—Rocky allegedly shot an acquaintance after an argument—won’t be fixed so easily.
Prior to the arrest, police were spotted outside of the rapper’s LA home, smashing the front gate with a battering ram, before raiding the property and seizing boxes full of evidence.
While Rocky’s alleged victim was only left with minor injuries when the bullet grazed his left hand, the soon to be father is now facing up to a year of jail time, a $1,000 fine and misdemeanor probation— at best.
If the courts really want to throw the book at him, he could be convicted of assault with a deadly weapon. Rocky supposedly fired a handgun at his acquaintance three or four times.
A felony conviction could see Rihanna be a single mom for up to four years while Rocky does time in state prison. He could also be fined up to $10,000 and face mandatory probation.
Though she has not announced her due date, fans are surmising the baby will be born in May. This is not only due to Rhianna’s ‘almost fully baked’ baby bump, but thanks to the emerald love locket (emerald being the birthstone for May) that was gifted to Rihanna from Rocky as a part of the almost $52,000 charm bracelet he recently gave his lady love.
