Queen Elizabeth II is reportedly in very good spirits in the run up to her Platinum Jubilee in what would be her 70th year in charge.
Queen Elizabeth II Is In Good Spirits In The Run Up To Her Platinum Jubilee – ‘It Will Be A Time Of Great Memory For Her’
That is according to Royal expert Stewart Pearce. This is welcome news in light of everything that the monarch has been through following the loss of her late husband Prince Philip, as well as the departure of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle from the Royal family in 2020.
And this was reflected in her first appearance of 2022, in which the Queen was visibly seen in a good mood as she held an event for Accession Day when she met some charities in preparation for the Platinum Jubilee.
In an interview with Us Weekly, Stewart said: “It will be a time of great memory for her.” Nevertheless, it is also a bittersweet moment. The Jubilee would also represent 70 years since her father George VI had died.
And given that she would take over the Royal duties, it is understandable if she felt a little emotional. After all, she had very big shoes to fill given that she was the Head of State after the Second World War.
Stewart stated: “This is an unusual time for her because she is about to remember [and] commemorate 70 years of her father’s departure. And she had a very, very close connection, a very close relationship with her father.”
Despite those mixed feelings, the Queen will have the benefit of seeing the next generation. It is no secret that she does have 8 grandchildren. While all of them will not be potentially present, there is no denying that this has been keeping her spirits up.
Stewart continued: “[The Queen will be] gathered by the younger members of the family, particularly of course, [Duchess] Kate and [Prince] William‘s children, whom she loves.”
With so much to look forward to, the Queen could not be in a better position. The only question remaining to be answered is will Harry and Meghan be attending any upcoming celebrations. We will have to see how this will play out going forward.
