British Royal Family News find that Queen Elizabeth has responded to Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s seismic tell-all interview with Oprah Winfrey, in which they made claims that a senior member of the royal family was concerned over just how dark the color of their son Archie’s skin would be while Meghan was pregnant.
Buckingham Palace has released a statement that says they take race issues “very seriously,” but at the same time that “recollections may vary” as to what was actually said.

On Tuesday, Buckingham Palace released a statement saying race allegations raised by Harry and Meghan are “concerning”. In a statement, issued on behalf of the Queen, it said the issues would be “addressed by the family privately.”
The statement reads: “The following statement is issued by Buckingham Palace on behalf of Her Majesty The Queen. The whole family is saddened to learn the full extent of how challenging the last few years have been for Harry and Meghan. The issues raised, particularly that of race, are concerning. Whilst some recollections may vary, they are taken very seriously and will be addressed by the family privately. Harry, Meghan and Archie will always be much loved family members.”
In their sit down interview with Oprah, which was viewed by 17 million people in the U.S. and 12 million people in the U.K., the Duke and Duchess of Sussex said that members of the royal family had discussed with the Duke of Sussex how dark their son’s color might be.
Meghan said a few of the royal family members had conversations with Harry about the potential shade of Archie’s skin. Harry later spoke about this conversation with his wife.
Meghan told Oprah, “There were also concerns and conversations about how dark his skin might be when he was born.”
Later in the interview, Oprah asked Harry to elaborate more on the conversation, but he refused to. “That conversation I am never going to share, but at the time it was awkward, I was a bit shocked,” he said.
