It’s best to stay safe, especially during these trying times. That’s probably what Princess Eugenie and Jack Brooksbank thought to themselves as they’ve decided to postpone their son August’s christening after a Covid-19 scare. Here’s what you need to know.
Eugenie and Jack’s son August was supposed to be christened at a church in Windsor, but were forced to change their plans after a guest was told to self-isolate.
The royal family, which includes Queen Elizabeth, along with Eugenie’s parents Prince Andrew and Sarah Ferguson and her sister, Princess Beatrice, were all supposed to be in attendance for the christening at All Saint’s Chapel in Windsor Great Park.

In observance of coronavirus rules, no more than 30 people were expected for the ceremony and party afterwards at Royal Lodge, which is home to ex-spouses Andrew and Sarah.
According to reports, it’s unknown if the guest in question had Covid-19 or if they have been in contact with someone who has tested positive.
Now, whether or not Prince William and Kate Middleton will attend the postponed christening, remains to be seen. It’s been said that Princess Eugenie is perhaps the one person in the royal family who could play as a peacemaker towards Prince William and his estranged brother, Prince Harry.
Royal author Marlene Koening says she believes Eugenie is in a stronger position that Kate Middleton to bring peace between the two royal brothers, who have apparently been feuding for the last several years now.
She told the Daily Star: “Eugenie would be in the best place because she’s not his sister-in-law, she’s his cousin.”
