British Royal Family News says that Prince William has been secretly volunteering behind the scenes during the global coronavirus pandemic. The only thing now is that it’s not-so-secret anymore. There are several reports that say the Duke of Cambridge has been a helpline volunteer for those looking for someone to talk to during the Covid-19 quarantine. Here’s what you need to know.
According to reports, Prince William has been working with Shout 85258, which is an around-the-clock helpline developed by the Royal Foundation. He’s been calling in and talking to people who have been isolating at home since March because of the coronavirus. Yet, the prince has only spoken about his work now even though he’s been secretly making these phone calls for quite some time.
British Royal Family News: Prince William’s Not-So-Secret Volunteer Work Revealed
The future King of England made the revelation to help mark Volunteers Week in the U.K. Prince William told fellow volunteers in a video call that was shared on social media late Friday: “I’m going to share a little secret with you guys, but I’m actually on the platform volunteering.”
Prince William also added that his wife Kate Middleton has been helping with the helpline as well. She’s been taking part in the “check in and chat” calls. Kate, along with many other volunteers, have been checking in with people who have been self-isolating or are vulnerable during the pandemic. Even though many countries are slowly but surely lifting their strict shelter-in-place measures in order to allow citizens to go back to work and slowly get their lives going again, there are still many people at risk for Covid-19. That’s why royals like Prince William and Kate Middleton are making sure that they know there’s always someone that they can talk to during these trying and uncertain times.
