British Royal Family News find that Prince William is feeling very protective over his wife Kate Middleton, and especially after Meghan Markle seemingly threw her under the bus in her explosive tell all interview with Oprah Winfrey.
Meghan went on the record to correct a story that suggested Meghan had made Kate cry before her royal wedding in 2018, but says that the opposite had actually happened. And now the Duke of Cambridge is upset that the story just won’t go away. Here’s what you need to know.
Meghan griped to Oprah about how her sister-in-law was reportedly getting more favorable press than she was. Not only did Meghan tell the world that Kate made her cry, but also sent her flowers to apologize for it, but brought up the press’ old nickname for her: Waity Katie.

The Duchess of Sussex simply wanted to point out how Kate had it easy when it came to the British tabloid’s “rude” coverage of Prince William’s wife, but “racist” coverage of Meghan.
Royal expert Penny Junor says though that Prince William is most likely fuming behind the scenes. She said, “William is very protective of Kate and can get very angry. For Meghan to name Kate in a negative light is worse than being attacked himself.”
Of course, it didn’t take long for royal critics to weigh in on the matter, with a lot of people believing that Prince William shouldn’t be giving his wife a free pass in this issue. After all, she did make Meghan cry for a reason.
Many comments have included, “Meghan didn’t even say anything bad about Kate and they need to stop because the Sussexes clearly have receipts. Which is why Kate playing the victim card is all they have left, which isn’t working at all,” along with, “Kate as the perfect wife/mother/duchess is part of the narrative he has spent years creating in the media – and its really the only thing he has going for him, this image of the Cambridges as the perfect, normal, everyday royal family. The fact that this story is causing such an outrage in KP tells you how much of a facade that image actually is, and how terrified they are of people finding out what is really happening behind the curtain.”
