Prince William has laid down the law as far as Prince Harry is concerned. He has banned the Duke from returning to the UK to help the royal family.
Harry and Meghan Are “Not to Be Trusted”
This development comes after the palace blocked Harry from spending more time with King Charles. Prince William has stressed that he would be the one to take on more royal duties amid his father’s illness.
William and the King have had several meetings at the Sandringham estate, where Charles recuperates after his cancer treatments.
William will never allow Harry back into the royal fold. Harry and his wife, Meghan Markle, are
“not to be trusted.”
The heir to the throne is putting most of his energy into his wife, Kate Middleton’s recovery from abdominal surgery and caring for his children, Princes George, Louis, and Princess Charlotte.
The attention that William must give his wife and children right now and the state of his father’s health prompted Harry to offer to help them during this time, but William is dead set against it.
Palace aides also blocked Harry when he traveled to the UK to spend time with Charles. They thought that if they gave him an inch, he’d take a mile, and they felt that,
“they’d never get rid of him.”
Sources close to the Palace claim that the Duke of Sussex wanted to spend a few days at Sandringham and even asked to stay at the Palace. Harry thought he was going to go to Sandringham.
Harry Hoped His Father’s Illness Would Unite His Family
Instead, the palace asked Harry to visit Clarence House for a brief, controlled visit to see the King. The first reports claimed that Harry saw his father for almost an hour. However, he was restricted to 30 minutes, and according to insiders, he was told to get a hotel for the night.
Many people thought the Duke’s trip to see his father might inspire a warm reunion with his family. However, it didn’t go down that way.
In an interview with Good Morning America on Friday, Harry said that he loves his family. He hoped that his father’s condition would have a “reuniting effect” on them. He said that he plans on traveling to the UK to visit more often.
Even though Harry is a Counselor of State, he’s been rejected as a possible solution to take some of the strain off the royal family, as it has been difficult lately.
Queen Elizabeth told Harry when he left the UK for California in January 2020 that a “half in, half out” approach would not be acceptable. She didn’t want Harry and Meghan to use the royal family for commercial purposes.
The King’s illness doesn’t alter any of the rules set by the family in accordance with the Queen’s wishes. Another source says that while returning to the monarchy is out of the question, King Charles is open to seeing more of his son.
Harry was willing to help and believed his participation would benefit him and his family. Harry has offered the palace an olive branch, but they are not interested.
