Prince Harry arrived in London today at the Royal Courts for his final battle against the British publication, the Daily Mail.
Prince Harry and a Group of Celebs Have Accused the Daily Mail of “Unlawful Information Gathering.”
Tens of millions of dollars are at stake as Harry is among a group of several high-profile celebs in taking on the so-called tabloid.
Harry, Elton John, Elizabeth Hurley, and Sadie Frost have all accused the Daily Mail of unlawful information-gathering methods to gain dirt on them for sensational headlines.
It’s the third round of his battle with the Daily Mail. Harry is going after them for “unlawful information gathering” obtained through nefarious tactics and multiple stories about Harry’s romantic relationships.
The Duke of Sussex insists that the British press invaded his privacy. Yet, in his tell-all memoir, Spare, he spoke candidly about the older woman, Sasha Walpole, who had “taken his virginity in a field.”
The woman was living her life privately, but Harry’s detailed description of the incident speaks volumes about him and shows that he takes no issue with breaching others’ privacy, as long as he can control the narrative.
The case is supposedly about “justice for wrongdoings,” The Telegraph wrote. The trial is dubbed “the final chapter” in Harry’s quest against the tabloids. Apparently, privacy is essential to Harry.
Meghan Is a Major Publicity Hound and Never Misses a Photo-Op
Yet we have Prince Harry and his publicity-hungry wife, Meghan Markle, attending a high-profile Kardashian bash for Kris Jenner’s 70th birthday on the same day as Remembrance Sunday.
The royal family spent Remembrance Sunday honoring the deceased veterans who fought in the war for freedom.
It’s highly likely that Meghan, in particular, was warned not to attend the party. However, Meghan never listens to any PR person who has ever tried to help her.
While it’s tragic that Harry lost his mother, Princess Diana, at such an early age, he’s not the only one who suffered.
Harry’s brother, Prince William, also lost his mother. Still, we don’t see his wife, Kate Middleton, posting a majorly offensive picture of herself nonchalantly kicking her feet up while passing the tunnel in Paris where Harry’s mother died in a fatal car crash in August 1997.
Kate is far too classy for those kinds of publicity stunts, but Meghan apparently doesn’t care how she comes off to the British public, or any public for that matter.
Once Harry is finished with his legal battles, he could make inroads with his father, King Charles.
Harry Blamed His Father for Not Intervening in His Legal Case
During a BBC interview in May, Harry blamed his father for not intervening in his legal troubles. He may have implied that the King should use his “sway” with the government to help him win his case.
Currently, Harry is brimming with confidence that he’ll win this case against the Daily Mail. The Associated Press has hit back at Harry’s claims. They say their journalists are professionals and never resort to dirty tactics to obtain information.
Harry has made several shocking claims against the newspaper. Including that the journalists had private investigators hack into his mobile phone and landline. They sought out personal information, such as medical and financial records.
The Duke’s legal team quoted him as saying,
“It was disturbing to feel that my every move, thought, or feeling was being tracked and monitored just for the Mail to make money out of it.”
They continued,
“That intrusion was terrifying for loved ones, creating a massive strain on personal relationships, while invidiously creating distrust and suspicion, driving me paranoid beyond belief, isolating me.”
Harry and Meghan stepped down as working royals and fled Britain in January 2020, citing the British tabloids as part of the reason they ultimately moved to California.
