Prince Harry is traveling to the UK on his own. A new report says that the Duke of Sussex has decided to make his trip back to the UK a solo one, has he’s opted to keep his son, Archie Harrison, home with his mother Meghan Markle and newborn sister Lilibet, in California.
The Duke of Sussex will be staying at Frogmore Cottage during his short visit for the unveiling of a Princess Diana statue at Kensington Gardens on what would have been her 60th birthday. Here’s what you need to know.
According to Vanity Fair, even Archie, who many of the royal family members haven’t seen in the last 18 months, could have been a perfect ice-breaker for the royal family’s ongoing feud, Prince Harry will be arriving on his own.
Prince Harry Will Not Bring His Son Archie Along For His Visit To The UK
Royal expert Katie Nicholl says that while Prince Harry has every right to be there, as he helped plan this event for his mother, his wife Meghan Markle is worried about the kind of reception he will get seeing how his royal family members turned their backs on him during Prince Philp’s funeral service in London back in April.
Nicholl puts it this way, “He was privately shocked by the frosty welcome he received from some family members when he returned to England for the April funeral of Prince Philip. A number of family members were still reeling from his and Meghan’s claims in their interview with Oprah Winfrey.”
Meanwhile, it does appear as though Prince Harry is speaking to Prince William even though their relationship is quite strained at the moment. “There have been conversations, after Lili was born and to make plans for next week, but things are still very strained,” said mutual friend of the brothers.
Prince Harry is expected to arrive in London later this week.
