So much for a happy holiday. There’s a new report that suggests Prince Harry and Meghan Markle won’t be returning to the U.K. for the Christmas holiday as they prefer to stay home in California with their two young children instead.
This, despite the fact that Queen Elizabeth has had some health concerns over the last several weeks and that Harry and Meghan haven’t spent Christmas with her since 2018. Here’s what you need to know.
Prince Harry And Meghan Markle Won’t Be Going Home For Christmas
Apparently, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex have been invited to spend Christmas with the royal family at Queen Elizabeth’s Sandringham Estate, but are yet to RSVP.
“There’s a lot that goes into the logistics and the planning of the family Christmas, so of course, staff know that Harry and Meghan are not coming,” one royal source told Page Six. “If they were, they would have communicated it to their family by now.
“But this is Her Majesty’s first Christmas without her husband, so one would have hoped they would want to be with her.”
Apparently, one of the reasons why Harry and Meghan don’t want to fly to London right now is because they know it would make a ruckus in the media headlines and that’s something they want to avoid right now.
“I think everyone understands there will be a frenzy when they both come back to the UK, but they need to rip the [Band-Aid] off and get on with it.” the source added.
