Prince Harry and Meghan Markle celebrate Prince Archie’s fifth birthday today as the palace royally snubs the Sussexes.
Archie Is The Apple Of His Father’s Eye
Archie’s birthday coincides with the anniversary of the King’s coronation, and Harry also has plans for his Invictus Games event on May 8th, so it’s a lot at once.
Little Archie was born on May 6th, 2019; on that day, a beaming and gushing proud papa, Harry, said,
“I haven’t been at many births; this is my first birth. It was amazing, absolutely incredible, and I’m so incredibly proud of my wife; as every father and parent would ever say, your baby is absolutely amazing, and this little thing is absolutely to die for, so I’m over the moon.”
Buckingham Palace has not yet delivered a statement regarding Archie’s special day, and it’s unclear whether they will. However, King Charles will reportedly reach out to them privately.
It has been said that the Firm only marks the birthdays of working royals and their children. Royal expert Danielle Stacey explains,
“In recent years, and certainly since King Charles III’s reign began in September 2022, we have only seen public messages from the royal family’s social media accounts for working members of the royal family, such as the Prince and Princess of Wales and their children, the Duke and Duchess of Edinburgh, and the Princess Royal.”
Prince Harry and Meghan Markle stepped down as functioning royals in January 2020. It’s the same rules for everyone, as other non-working royals like Princess Beatrice, Princess Eugenie, and Zara Tindell do not receive birthday messages from the palace.
Archie Has A Wonderful Life In California
Archie has only spent the first few months of his life in the UK and has celebrated all his birthdays in the US. He lived with his parents at Frogmore Cottage before their family moved to Canada and California.
The US is home to Archie and his little sister, Lilibet, who was born on June 4th, 2021, so she will be turning three this year.

In a lovely and heartwarming scene in the first episode of the series, Meghan holds a much younger Archie as he gazes adoringly at the framed photo of Princess Diana that used to hang on the wall of his nursery at Frogmore Cottage.
“Who’s that?” Meghan asks. Archie starts to coo and touch the picture. “Hi, Grandma. That’s Grandma Diana,” Meghan softly whispers to her son.
He was later seen happily chasing seagulls at the beach and dutifully helping his parents pick oranges in their home garden.
Archie also loves to play with the family’s two cherished canine companions, a Labrador named Pula and a Beagle named Guy. He is also seen watching a “beautiful” sunset and sweetly observing a hummingbird with his father.
Archie has been attending preschool and will soon begin his journey as a full-time student when he turns six. He may also go to kindergarten in the fall.
While Harry, Meghan, and their children are celebrating Archie’s birthday, Harry probably can’t help but wish his family would acknowledge it.
