And you thought your family drama was bad, huh? There’s a new report that suggests Prince Charles has only seen his grandson Archie twice since he was born. The only times that the future King of England got to see Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s only son was shortly after his birth in 2019 and again during his christening that year. Here’s what you need to know.
As many royal fans can recall, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle took a little ‘break’ from their royal duties in November of 2019 and spent a few weeks in Canada with friends. That’s when they decided to divorce the royal family for good and move to North America to start a better live for themselves.
Prince Charles Has Only Seen Grandson Archie Twice Since He Was Born
After spending a few weeks in Vancouver, the couple settled in Meghan’s native Los Angeles during the start of the global pandemic in March of 2020. They’ve since been calling California their home.
Unfortunately for Prince Charles and the rest of the royal family, they’ve gotten to see very little of Archie. One source close to the royal family even told the Daily Mail that Archie has likely only seen his Cambridge cousins Prince George, 7, Princess Charlotte, 6, and Prince Louis, 3, once.
“In fact every member of Harry’s family can easily count on one hand the number of times they saw Archie after he was born and before the family left the UK. It’s a very sad situation.”
While the global pandemic has certainly made things harder on everyone, especially when it comes to travel, it doesn’t appear as though Meghan Markle and Archie plan on heading to the UK anytime soon. What’s more, it’s very unlikely that Prince Charles will visit California, unless, of course, it is for a state trip. This means it might be a very long time before he gets to see his grandson or even granddaughter, seeing how Meghan is currently pregnant with the couple’s second child.
