He might be the world’s most hated prince, but it seems like he’ll forever be Queen Elizabeth’s favorite child. There are new reports that suggest Prince Andrew is seeking comfort by spending more time than ever before with his mother during secret nighttime visits. Here’s what you need to know.
One source close to the situation says the Duke of York snuck over to Windsor Castle from his home at Royal Lodge every night last week to discuss his future with the monarchy, The UK Sun reported.
Prince Andrew Is Making Nighttime Visits To Queen Elizabeth
“Andrew has been very careful and is trying to keep out of sight. He knows there are photographers in the daytime and his best chance to avoid them is after dark,” a source told the outlet.
“He knows he is meant to be keeping his head down and it’s a short trip, but he is extremely contrite and apologized to the Queen for all the trouble he has caused her.”
Meanwhile, now that he’s settled out of court for a reported $16 million with his sexual abuse accuser Virginia Giuffre, a lot of people can’t help but wonder what’s next for the Duke of York.
Giuffre has claimed she was trafficked by convicted sex offender Epstein and others to Andrew, who is alleged to have sexually abused her when she was 17, a minor under US law. She also alleged the royal forced her to engage in sex acts against her will at Epstein’s mansion on the Upper East Side of Manhattan.
And now it’s being reported that the sum of the settlement has not been disclosed but the duke will make a “substantial donation” to Giuffre’s charity in support of victims’ rights. The Duke has also pledged to “demonstrate his regret for his association with Epstein” by supporting the “fight against the evils of sex trafficking, and by supporting its victims.” However, reps for the duke declined to comment on the source of funds for the donation.
