Pittsburgh Steelers center Maurkice Pouncy has voted for Donald Trump and his Instagram story is showing it off. This has caused quite a stir around the internet as fellow players and fans have begun an argument over the entire thing.
Pouncey chose to come out in public about who he was voting for, so it’s going to open the gate for criticism, though it looks like this “criticism” is rather racist and offputting. I understand not agreeing with someone, but since has name-calling done anything?
Before I go off in my rant, be clear, this goes both ways. When people started attacking Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson and calling him names for supporting Joe Biden, that was disgusting. The same can be and is true for what’s happening to Pouncey.

Right off the bat, Titans offensive tackle Taylor Lewan commented on one of Pouncey’s earlier posts, “?? ?”. Several people commented on the post before Pouncey eventually said, “?? hope ya good Bruhda.”
Unfortunately, people have taken it further and even commented on pictures of his children, saying, “Why you and your brother voted for trump and y’all black?”. So, apparently, judging the way someone votes based on their skin color isn’t racist? Telling someone they need to vote a certain way because they’re black is the definition of racism.
Another person commented, “Man make a post about who you voted for so I don’t have to tell you to wake the fuck up voting for Trump under your daughters pictures…..”. If you don’t like the way a person voted, the best way to change their mind is definitely by cursing and being disrespectful to them. Why don’t you just keep your thoughts to yourself, or try to have a conversation with the person? In the end, it’s their decision. Whether it’s The Rock endorsing Biden or Maurkice Pouncey voting for Trump, let them do them, and you worry about yourself.
