When Piers Morgan has something to say, you better believe that everyone is going to sit down and listen. While he certainly does have a lot to say when it comes to Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, this time the British television personality is slamming Alec Baldwin for his “arrogant” refusal to accept any responsibility in Halyna Hutchins’ death. He also says that he’s tired of Alec playing the victim in all of this, too. Here’s what you need to know.
Soon after it was reported that Alec would be charged in the fatal shooting of the cinematographer, Piers took to his Twitter account to write, “Wow….massive blow to Baldwin who has maintained an arrogant refusal to accept any responsibility for firing the gun, and insisted on playing the victim.”
Piers Morgan Slams Alec Baldwin: Arrogant Refusal To Accept Any Responsibility
Many of his Twitter followers commented on the matter with, “Any person handling a firearm needs to also check to see if a gun is loaded or if the gun is supposed to have blanks does in fact have blanks. No matter what the person said that handed it to you,” along with, “In most jurisdictions, armorers are very strict even with imitation firearms. In the US with their gun culture it seems that reckless weapon handling is rife. Easily could’ve been avoided with proper weapon handling training.”
Another critic wrote, “How long it took to get to this point was stunning. If leading Dem’s are under scrutiny for misdeeds, the resistive supporters just drag things out as long as they can. It’s a societal illness plaguing much of the US.”
Meanwhile, and according to new reports, Alec still wants to get back to work despite the fact that there’s so much controversy surrounding the film and Hutchins’ death. Melina Spadone, lawyer for Rust Movie Productions, has said that the film is “still on track to be completed with Mr Baldwin in the lead role and Joel Souza returning as director.”
Earlier reports say that Halyna’s husband Matthew Hutchins would be serving as executive producer of Rust. He said in a statement, “We have reached a settlement, subject to court approval, for our wrongful death case against the producers of Rust, including Alec Baldwin and Rust Movie Productions, LLC. As part of that settlement, our case will be dismissed. The filming of Rust, which I will now executive produce, will resume with all the original principal players on board in January 2023. I have no interest in engaging in recriminations or attribution of blame (to the producers or Mr Baldwin).”
