Jeremy Clarkson released an apology to Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, the Duchess of Sussex, on Monday 16th January 2023, for an article he wrote about her.

However, the couple alleged that he had not taken responsibility for his “long-standing pattern” of producing “hate rhetoric” in his articles. In his statement, the ex-Top Gear host only addressed Harry and failed to mention the subject of his article, Meghan.

In the offensive article, Clarkson expressed his loathing for the Duchess and went on to describe a scenario in which she was made to walk through Britain naked while people yelled “shame” and threw excrement at her.

In his comments, Clarkson said: “I really am sorry. All the way from the balls of my feet to the follicles on my head. This is me putting my hands up. It’s a mea culpa with bells on.”

Despite this being the case, it appears that there could be widespread implications for Clarkson’s career moving forward. According to Variety Australia, Jeremy Clarkson will not be collaborating with Amazon Prime after the conclusion of his current series, ‘Clarkson’s Farm’.

The announcement was made after the presenter made a public apology to Harry. It has been confirmed that Clarkson will also not be working with Amazon Prime once ‘The Grand Tour’ and the farm show have finished.

The fans on social media had a lot say about the matter. A certain subset of people were of the view that Harry and Meghan equally had to apologise for the attacks they had been launching against the firm.

One person wrote: “When are they going to apologise for all the hate they are spewing,” while another person stated: “He’s done nothing wrong.” Time will tell if there are any further ramifications for Clarkson moving forward in the future.
