Piers Morgan seemingly defended Prince Andrew after Ghislaine Maxwell’s bombshell interview. In his talk show, Piers Morgan Uncensored, he says that the Duke of York simply wanted to clear his name and that’s why he agreed to Virignia Giuffre’s payout even though there are some supposed ‘credibility’ issues with Andrew’s accuser. Here’s what you need to know.
“I have a view that the moment Andrew paid that cheque, it was over this case he can’t revisit this,” Piers commented. “He said, ‘I’m going to take it all the way, I’m going to clear my name,’ and he just caved. You can read between £3 million and £10 million, but it was millions and millions of dollars – to a woman he claims he never met, which never had any credibility as far I’m concerned. Why would you pay somebody you’ve never met millions of dollars in a sex abuse case? But, and it’s an important one – if his main accuser has now got serious credibility issues, why shouldn’t Andrew re-enter the legal frame?”

Of course, it didn’t take very long for Piers’ fans and followers to weigh in on the matter. Many of them took to his Twitter account to comment with, “If Virginia has lied, Andrew should set the record straight (after the coronation) It’s not just Ghislaine’s word, Lady Sarah Harvey has protested about that photo & lies etc from the very beginning, bravely & publicly sticking her neck out, why?
There’s more to this @piersmorgan,” along with, “All I have to say is, as an innocent person, I would NEVER pay someone millions of pounds to settle out of court. No one’s just going to give that sort of money away for no reason, especially after the smear on your ‘good’ name on the world stage.”
Another critic wrote, “Settlements aren’t, as you imply, an admission of guilt. Most often it is simply cheaper to settle than to go to court. In this case, as you correctly said, Andrew wanted to go to court. However HMTQ’s deteriorating health was probably the deciding factor here.”
And then there was this comment, too: “You can’t believe a word Ghislaine Maxwell say’s because she is a sex offender by pimping out young girl’s to the gentry like Prince Andrew and that photo she’s saying is false is total BS and she’s not genuine and no remorse what she has done to these poor women , narcissist.”
