Madison Schemitz, a 17-year-old from Florida, courageously shared her story of survival and expressed gratitude towards her mother and a Good Samaritan who intervened when her ex-boyfriend, Spencer Pearson, allegedly attacked her with a knife.

The incident, which occurred over a month ago in a restaurant parking lot, left Madison with 15 stab wounds.

During a recent press conference held at Brooks Rehabilitation, Madison broke her silence and addressed the public for the first time since the harrowing incident on June 3.

Pearson, 18, has been accused of not only assaulting Madison but also attacking her mother and a Good Samaritan before inflicting self-harm by slicing his own throat.

Pearson survived the self-inflicted injuries and now faces charges of attempted murder and aggravated battery.

According to Pearson‘s arrest warrant, he had been relentlessly following and harassing Madison since April, prompting her family to consider obtaining a restraining order. Madison’s sister revealed that their mother was in the process of seeking legal protection against Pearson.

The warrant further detailed Pearson’s self-harm, as he repeatedly sliced his own throat while stating his intention to end his life. Despite the visible stitches on his neck in his booking photo, Pearson survived the attempt.

Having recently graduated from the same high school as Madison, Pearson currently remains incarcerated without bail. In her message to fellow survivors, Madison offered words of encouragement, stating, “It’s gonna be okay. Every day is its own day, and you have to take it one day at a time.”
