After Cindy Crawford criticized the encounter in a recent documentary, footage of Oprah Winfrey requesting the then-20-year-old supermodel to flaunt her body on national television in 1986 has been taken off from the host’s YouTube channel.

In the new Apple TV+ docu-series The Super Models, which features Naomi Campbell, Linda Evangelista, and Christy Turlington as fellow “supers,” Cindy, 57, spoke up about the interview and her renowned fashion career.

Even though the video had been publicly accessible for the previous three years, it was surreptitiously changed to private on the Oprah Winfrey Network YouTube channel just hours after Cindy’s remarks were made public.

The video shows Cindy’s debut appearance on The Oprah Winfrey Show together with John Casablancas, a representative for the Elite Model Agency. Oprah is heard introducing the lovely young model before asking, “Did she always have this body? Stand up just a moment, now this is what I call a BODY.”

Cindy stood up and let the crowd and watchers at home to gaze at her statuesque body before cracking a timid smile. Cindy acknowledged what she had been thinking and feeling at the time, “I was like the chattel or a child, to be seen and not heard.”

Later on in the video, Oprah asked John, who was Cindy’s representative, a number of questions. John said when Oprah asked whether the company had to put the model through a “training period”, “With Cindy, it was much more psychologically she was not sure she really wanted to model… little by little, her ambition is growing.”

John’s forecast came true, Cindy made sure to show viewers in the docuseries how arduous her early career preparation was in order to succeed.

The new four-part documentary on Apple TV+, which follows the rise of the women who made millions of dollars, dated movie stars, and solidified their status as supermodels after that iconic music video for George Michael’s song, Freedom, in 1990, offers an intriguing glimpse into the scandals that may surface.

Cindy’s open remarks about her Oprah interview are quite revealing and provide an intriguing look into those scandals.

What do you think? Why did Oprah delete the video and does it just prove that Cindy is right about her? Let us know in the comments below.
