A packed Metlife Stadium full of New York Giants fans booed the Taylor Swift Eras Tour Ad. Last night at the game between the Giants and the Seattle Seahawks, they streamed an ad for Taylor’s upcoming Eras tour concert into the stadium.

Giants fans responded by booing the hugely successful pop singer and newest football fan. Some people are sick of the Taylor Swift phenomenon and don’t feel like having her thrown in their faces.

Fortunately for her, Taylor wasn’t in the vicinity to hear the loud booing echoing from the stands.

The incident video was posted on X, or Twitter, as most people still call it. The video has over 7.4 million views.

    Taylor Swift Attracted Massive Viewership

Swift was at her new beau, Travis Kelce’s game with the Kansas City Chiefs the day before this incident. The NFL is clearly embracing the Swiftie mentality, as 27 million people watched the Chiefs game on Sunday.

The league left a social media post that said, “The Chiefs are 2-0 as Swifites.” A few hours later, someone deleted the post due to fans’ nasty comments.

Viewership for Sunday’s game was the largest ever since the Super Bowl. The game attracted 1.85 million viewers, not to mention a new demographic of teeny boppers, Swifties, and two million more females.

However, many NFL fans are upset by the Swiftie phenomenon interfering with the dignity of the sport.

They claim that the Swift obsession is out of control, as the camera panned over to Taylor Swift at least 17 times during Sunday night’s game.

Joined by her little army of famous friends, Swift enjoyed their company, including Ryan Reynolds, Hugh Jackman, Shawn Levy, and Blake Lively.

Packed MetLife Stadium: There Was Serious Backlash from NFL Fans

There appears to be a lot of backlash about Taylor coming to the games to see her supposed boyfriend, Travis Kelce.

The fact remains that this whole thing could be a stunt on both Swift and Kelce’s part to gain publicity. Since he started dating Taylor Swift, Kelce’s Instagram account has increased followers by tens of thousands.

As for Taylor’s role in this, it has been suggested that she has, in the past, orchestrated fake relationships for the sake of media attention.

Not everyone is enjoying the Swiftie frenzy that is occurring in football lately. A reporter for Fox said,

“The wall-to-wall coverage of Taylor Swift at this game is annoying AF. I don’t like football, although I agree it’s destroying it.”

Sports writer Jeff Pearlman wrote on X (Twitter),

“In case anyone didn’t hear, Taylor Swift was at the game. And NBC made it annoying.”

Many NFL fans posted their frustration with the situation on social media. Fans didn’t appreciate the Chief’s first touchdown being interrupted by a glimpse of Swift and her entourage.

There was so much hoopla over Taylor Swift simply being there at the stadium that it was distracting to the game.

    One fan joked,

“Please don’t play a Taylor Swift drinking game…. you’ll be hospitalized if you aren’t already.”

While it’s true that Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce are creating an entirely new fan base of their own, it should not be a distraction from the game or an insult to NFL fans.
