There’s a new report that says the FBI has “everything they need” in the Gabby Petito murder case. The Laundrie family attorney, Steven Bertolino, says that Brian Laundrie’s parents Chris and Roberta Laundrie plan to cooperate in the investigation into the death of their son’s late fiancé, Gabby.
The young woman was reported missing and found dead after she and her fiance embarked on a country-wide road trip this past summer. However, Laundrie returned home to Florida on September 1st without his girlfriend, and 10 days before her mother reported her missing. Here’s what you need to know.

After explaining what the FBI had told him, Bertolino told Fox News: “I was unaware of that as of yesterday. So, things change every day in this saga.”
“And it is tragic. It’s very sad,” he continued. “So, ultimately, we’ll see that through as it needs to be.”
With that said though, the Laundries still might face legal consequences, according to defense lawyer Mark Geragos. “Based on what we know so far… the only exposure, potential liability, would be either after the federal warrant was issued or if there was some assistance given while he was a fugitive,” Geragos told Fox News, meaning Laundrie’s parents would likely only be accused of a crime for actions committed after the U.S. District Court of Wyoming issued a federal arrest warrant for their son.
Brian Laundrie’s items were found just hours after his own parents, Chris and Roberta, were at the Myakkahatchee Creek Environmental Park. Laundrie reportedly disappeared after going hiking in the area last month.
Gabby Petito was found on September 19 in Wyoming’s Grand Teton National Park. The coroner said DNA samples were taken by law enforcement.
