Netflix has a new movie coming for the Holidays. ‘Holidate’ is a film that stars Emma Roberts and Luke Bracey as two people who are not looking for any long term relationship, but instead someone to spend the holidays with. Sounds a little odd doesn’t it? However, it seems like that’s the idea of the film. Take a look at the trailer below that was uploaded with the following description,
“Sloane (Emma Roberts) and Jackson (Luke Bracey) hate the holidays. They constantly find themselves single, sitting at the kids table, or stuck with awkward dates. But when these two strangers meet during one particularly bad Christmas, they make a pact to be each other’s “holidate” for every festive occasion throughout the next year. With a mutual disdain for the holidays, and assuring themselves that they have no romantic interest in the other, they become each other’s perfect plus-one which leads to some hilarious and provocative hijinks. However, as a year of absurd celebrations come to an end, Sloane and Jackson find that sharing everything they hate may just prove to be something they unexpectedly love.”

This seems like a throwback to romcoms of the early 2000s and a lot of people are on board! “This is gonna be mediocre and I am DEFINITELY going to watch it. Just like every other rom com holiday movie.”, “I love that this is giving me Christmas vibes!”, “you had me at kristin chenoweth” and “Luke braceyyy!!!! Had to click this just to make sure its him lol i really like him in little fires everywhere”.
Netflix’s ‘Holidate’ releases next month, October 28.
