Netflix’s ‘Animals on the Loose’ puts you in the boots of Bear Grylls as he is tasked with retrieving animals who have escaped their sanctuary. It’s a completely interactive experience, that allows you to control the outcome and what choices Bear makes.

It’s a very interesting idea and hopefully, it’ll work out as well as it sounds! Decide whether to hide under the truck or climb up a tree to escape a lion! Will you make the right choice? Take a look at the trailer below that was uploaded with the following description,

“When wild animals escape from a sanctuary, Bear Grylls — and you — must pursue them and secure their protective habitat. An interactive special. When there’s a power outage at a safari reserve, Bear Grylls is called and he needs your help. The situation is dire: an escaped lion is headed for a nearby village; a baboon has broken free and is going towards the sea cliffs, and the power must be restored before more animals escape. Animals on the Loose: A You vs. Wild Interactive Movie, launches globally on February 16.”

Viewers and fans commented on the trailer, “This interactive thing is what dora needs.”, “Can’t wait for the memes that’ll come from this show.”, “I love these choose ur own adventure programs….we need more”, “I want more interactive Netflix things, but I’m dissapointed it’s only being used for family enertainment. Bandersnatch was wild!”, and “This is gonna be interesting”.

I hope that this film works out well and that the technology is where it needs to be. We’ve had these interactive “choose your own adventure” films in the past and they’ve seemed to be lackluster. What do you think about interactive movies and do you think Netflix will do it right?

Netflix’s ‘Animals on the Loose’ premieres next month, on February 16.
